2 French Cupped Swords ,Rapiers Circa 17 Century J. Habirshaw Paris

Description: This offering is truly elegant a SET of 2 French Cup Hilt Rapiers in excellent condition. The hilt is steel mounted . The smith who made these J. Habershaw was a master forger . The grip is a work of art . It is twisted steel wire shaped in a spiral pattern , see photo. The outside of the cup hilt has a 3 letter Gilded Monogram, and I am not sure what the letters are see photo. The 3 sided Hand Engraved long rapier blade is 34 "in great condition. The Curved Wide side of the blade has a Monogram J. Habershaw. My Research places these swords 17th Century. No Scabbards are present, being that they were made of leather and of such length 34" they are long gone. The overall length of the sword is 45" with a 37 " blade and a 8" Grip. The Engraving on all of the 3 sides of these elegant rapiers have a Leaf and Flower Motif and the address L. Chobert ARG2 16 R Lafayette 27 Ritabout Paris.
