The coasters have not been used but the surface of the coasters have slight scratches seen when held sideways in the light. There were also some imperfections in the coasters when received from the craft store. The coaster with the brown/tan cat has the corner of the coaster chipped off (see pictures).My 87 year old mother made the cross stitch pictures and I put the coasters together for her. Cross stitch gives her something to do and keeps her busy.Acrylic coasters with a cork back. I would not recommend for very hot drinks. Do not immerse in water to clean.
