Vintage from the 1920s Materials: porcelain ceramic clay, enamel paints, white glaze, clear glaze, gold leaf About this item A Chinese Republic period Famille Rose canton platter/charger. Both platter/chargers are decorated with two peacocks in a bed of flowers. Alternating colors forming a red and black band encircling the center art. Decorated in the following, red areas with flowers and the black with a ribbon and diamond shape. There is the use of gold leaf on the rim and band. The rim is designed with an alternating scene of a painted scene with a cartouche. The back of the plate has the leaf patterns shown and the makers stamp with Islamic script. It is a Chinese porcelain probably made for the Islamic market. Each platter/charger measures 14” diameter with a depth of 2". One charger has the makers Center stamp. Both have the three leaves on the back. They are in excellent condition. There is one imperfection shown in the last picture from manufacturing . It is not a scratch in the surface.
