Near Mint (NM): Very close to mint condition. There is no whitening on the edges, or casually visible scratches on the front or back. There may be some surface wear, but only visible if held to the light and seen at a specific angle. At the upper limit of this, card has virtually no flaws and is essentially pack fresh. Lightly Played (LP): Defects can be seen at a casual inspection. May have a few nicks or scratches on the front and/or back. There may be some edge wear or minor whitening that can be seen upon close inspection. When the card is in a sleeve the defects will not be as noticeable and the card will likely blend in with other cards.Moderately Played (PL): There is excessive whitening around the edges and the corners any combination of moderate wear, a lot of scratches, picks, bends, and/or creases. When you put the card in a sleeve, it might stick out due to it's condition, but nonetheless still playable in a sleeve.Heavily Played (HP): The name says it all. Very abused. Heavily scratched, creased, or bent, or peeling layers. Usually if there is anything even beyond this, it will be stated that it is "Damaged".
