She has won numerous awards for her work and is now tied with Robert Heinlein for the most Hugo best novel awards won. In my option, this book is one of her best. We have more books autographed by Lois McMaster Bujold for sale, many also signed by other contributors, use the link below to see a list: Autographed Lois McMaster Bujold titles for sale. Synopsis: The recently widowed Ekaterin Vorsoisson returns to Barrayar, following the events described in KOMARR, and finds herself under siege from several suitors, including Miles Vorkosigan. Miles’ initial attempts at courtship result in colossal disasters, affecting as well Miles’ brother Mark, who is forbidden from courting his own ladylove by the girl’s outraged parents. Some nasty political maneuverings by ambitious Vor aristocrats create new trials for Miles while he wages his campaign for Ekaterin’s heart. Intrigue, wit and high hilarity make this Hugo and Nebula finalist a must for readers of science fiction and romance alike. Lord Miles Vorkosigan has a problem that all his new power can't solve: unrequited love for the beautiful Vor widow Ekaterin Vorsoisson. Ekaterin is violently allergic to marriage as a result of her first exposure. But, as Miles learned from his late career in galactic covert ops, if a frontal assault won't do, go to subterfuge. Miles has a cunning plan, which, of course, has to be worked out in between District succession scandals and plans for the emperor's wedding. And if no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy, just imagine what all Miles' friends and relatives can do to his romantic strategy. Praise: "All the virtues we have come to expect from Bujoid including more and more prose that sings." - The Chicago Sun Times Condition: Binding - near fine, slight wear to the corner tips of the spine and the side corners - both top and bottom, a few slight flaws to the page edge gilding, otherwise like new.
