It features a beautiful top with some figuring streaked around the top, long neck tenon, open book Gibson headstock, and solid mahogany body & neck making it similar to a '58 or '59 Les Paul reissue. There is a distinct flavor that is a true delight in the older Epiphone line that was produced in Japan, and this interesting piece is far from the exception. This is a true players guitar... the visual appeal will be appreciated by all and the musical flavor is just as sweet. The guitar is in phenomenal condition with minimal playwear. I could only find a ding on the bottom edge of the body and a super small nick on the top edge of the headstock. It seems to be seldom if ever played at all and is the definition of a closet queen. It radiates a cool, vintage-MOJO vibe and will feel like home once she's in your hands. Perfectly weighted and well balanced are the first impressions, and when your hand reaches the fretboard the next impression is that this girl has got it. Unplugged she displays characteristic woody timbre and clean, resonant twang that transfers tremendously when she is plugged in. Hooked up to an amp this Lester truly comes to life and really packs the nuanced grind and authoritative tone that makes the Custom the quintessential electric guitar sound of our times. The guitar has been professionally dialed in for immediate rocking, with a straight and clean neck, and un-tarnished hardware. Playability is outta sight with crisp, buttery action and smooth, accurate feel making this little lady hard to put down. The guitar has a nice, tightly grained rosewood board, and clean frets, proper functioning machines that hold tune perfectly, and clean saddles that provide precise intonation.
