1998 TOPPS FINEST CENTURION REFRACTOR #5 KEN GRIFFEY JR JERSEY #24/75 BACKDOOR

Description: Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution What a sweet card! This is Griffey's 1998 Topps Finest Centurion Refractor card. It is serial #'d out of just 75 made and this is to his jersey number, 24. What some may not appreciate when they see these available for sale is that the true pack inserted cards have a leading 0 (i.e. 024/75). However several sheets of these made it out of the factory and were stamped with nearly identical looking stamps without the leading 0. So all serials with just 2 digits in front of the "/" are of the backdoored variety. Approx 5-10 years after this one was graded by PSA they de-activated the cert on this one, so it does not show up on their website any longer. I kept in inside the holder for posterity & to best protect the card, but happy to break it out safely for the buyer if they prefer. It is still a fantastic card for any Junior collection - and there are no doubt still numerous 1998 Finest Centurion Refractors in the PSA Registry that were backdoored just like this one and never removed. Griffey's cards have taken on investment-grade status over the past 5 years and issues in his registry tend to get more promptly corrected. Thanks for looking.
