Description: POGO by Walt Kelly This is a series of 4 lithographs produced by The Entertainment Art Company in 1992. Each is plate signed by Walt Kelly, set numbered 59/750. Each lithograph signed by Kelly's widow, Selby Kelly. The set has an embossed Kelly family authentication seal. An additional lithograph is included, set numbered 59/750, unsigned (not available). All are printed on 100% rag acid-free paper (290 gsm minimum). Mats are light gray acid-free and framed in a black Framemica frame (like lacquer). Plexiglass easy to clean, safe for the framed artwork. The lithographs are magnificently detailed and intricate. 1. "We Have Met The Enemy" 1971 size: 21 X 23 inches Earth Day 1971, one of the most celebrated pieces of artwork in comic history. 2. "The Tumult and the Shouting Has Died"1960 size: 22 X 13 inches August 12, 1960 daily strip. Churchy LaFemme and Howland Owl are offered a top secret assignment spying on a foreign power so secret they can't be told its identity. 3. "Christmas Greetings" 1964? size: 25 X 19 inches Featuring almost every major character, this is one of Kelly's most exquisite works. 4. "Man Look at That Artwork!" 1964 size: 23 X 18 inches A Sunday strip from March 8, 1964, Kelly pokes fun at the very medium he uses. Extra: "The Political Dope" 1952 size: 14 X 16 inches Created for promotional purposes during the 1952 Presidential campaign, wherein Pogo has tossed his hat into the ring. This lithograph is an extra which is match numbered. Not a part of the Kelly Official Seal set, not signed by Selby Kelly (an option not available). This set was purchased by me in 1992 and has remained in my possession. They currently grace my office wall.
