It is frame with conservation grade acid-free materials plus UV blocking glass to protect and preserve this limited edition print for generations. The frame is solid wood with a beautiful dark walnut stained veneer that brings out the beauty of the fall trees in the background. The matting is a beige suede that plays off the light and shadows of the feathers of these beautiful Redheads. The accent mats are black and a textured tan, brown, and black. All the colors are a neutral palette that bring out the natural beauty of the colors and texture in the ducks feathers. About the artist - As presented on the print folio This was Arthur Anderson's fifth time to enter the Federal contest. He decided to paint the Redhead because "They are a pretty bird, they hadn't won in a number of years and they frequent all the flyways making them a well known bird". The paint was still wet on the canvas when Art rushed to ship his entry. When the call came from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Art was working on a bald eagle painting. A voice said "You've done it, you've won the big one". Art thought it was one of his buddies playing a joke, but was soon convinced otherwise. As of 1987, Art Anderson has 13 limited edition wildlife prints. His home is in Onalaska, Wisconsin by the Mississippi River. The bluffs & marshes, teeming with wildlife, are a constant source of inspiration.
