It's been 10 years since Andrew Anderson was wounded while attempting to rescue four U.S. pilots who had been shot down over Vietnam. But he still thinks about it. "It's not something you forget," he says. These days, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew E. Anderson, USMC Ret., has a calm, peacetime job as vice president and director of human resources for First Homestead Federal Savings and Loan. A decade ago he prowled the jungles of Southeast Asia as the officer in charge of the armed services' Joint Personnel Recovery Center, directing specially trained recovery teams in the rescue of American pilots before they became prisoners in Viet Cong camps.
