This map opens to 23½" x 34" and has great detail on old highway alignments, including U.S. Routes 1, 15, 17, and 81, with cartography by the General Drafting Company. Sections of Interstate 95 were still under construction. On the reverse side there are inset plans of Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Durham, Columbia, Charlotte, Asheville, Spartanburg, Charleston, Wilmington, Greenville, Raleigh, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The map was distributed by the Humble Oil & Refining Company to promote its Esso brand. It is dated 1971 in the legend. The code number on the rear panel is W1070.
