Description: I have for sale a 1968 commemorative medal for the 9th Illinois Numismatic Association convention and the medal also commemorates the sesquicentennial of Illinois, 21st state, being admitted to the union. The medal is gilted metal, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in a high grade circulated condition. At the obverse rim it reads ILLINOIS NUMISMATIC ASSN. NINTH ANNUAL CONVENTION - 1968. In the center it shows a bust that looks similar to the Morgan dollar bust, and around the bust it reads ILL. N.A. - FOUNDED 1959. On the reverse at the rim it reads ILLINOIS SESQUICENTENNIAL - LAND OF LINCOLN. In the center it shows the outline of Illinois with 21 at the top, a flag and the Liberty bell.
