The book includes a general view of the archaic art of Turkmenistan, which serves as an introduction to the topic, reflecting the most ancient sources of local artistic creativity, covers the ancient art of the period of brilliant rise of spiritual and material culture of antiquity and outlines the artistic culture of feudal society, whose traditions, due to a certain historical stagnation, were firmly preserved in the territory of Turkmenistan even at that chronological stage, which goes far beyond the boundaries of the Middle Ages, actually covering the so-called New Time. The album part of the book contains 158 illustrations on coated paper, the text contains 39 black-and-white illustrations and 14 color ones (on 7 insert sheets).
