Description: Large-format fold-out 1967 Chevron road map of Long Island and the metropolitan New York City area, printed more than 51 years ago. This map opens to 22" x 34½" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha. The coverage area extends from Peekskill to Coney Island, including Tarrytown, New Rochelle, and neighboring New Jersey, with an inset plan of Manhattan approaches. The map of Long Island is on the reverse side and shows construction in progress on the Long Island Expressway east of Ronkonkoma. The map was distributed by the Eastern Division of the Chevron Oil Company in 1967 and is dated in the legend. The code in the lower margin is 12-OO. The back panel has a Chevron service station sign and the slogan "Get up and go with Chevron!" Condition: This map is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears.
