Description: The rare 1965 card has visible signs of wear to include staining and some creasing on the perimeter of the card. It measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. The staining seen in this card is not unusual. This unnumbered card features Troy Ruttman and is one of 18 cards that make up the 1965 Marhoefer Drivers set. Ruttman would make 49 starts in the Championship Series, including winning the 1952 Indianapolis 500. Ruttman also made several starts in NASCAR, where he had five finishes in the Top 10. He is a member of numerous Hall of Fames to include Sprint Cars, Midgets and the USAC Hall of Fame. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past. I will combine shipping and provide a refund on shipping charges for anything over cost. Thanks!
