Description: The rare 1965 card has visible signs of wear to include significant creasing that is most evident on the backside of the card. It measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. The typical stains seen with these cards is not evident on the Carter card. This unnumbered card features Duane Carter and is one of 18 cards that make up a complete 1965 set. Carter made 11 starts in the Indy 500 with a best finish of third while relief driving for Sam Hanks. Carter is a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame.
