Description: The rare 1964 card from the "carbking" collection has limited wear and no staining on the back of the card. This is a very nice card. It measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. This unnumbered card features Jim Rathmann and is one of 20 cards that make up a complete 1964 Marhoefer set. Rathmann had 14 starts in the Indianapolis 500 and was the 1960 winner. He would also finish second three times. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past. I will combine shipping and provide a refund on shipping charges for anything over cost. Thanks!
