Description: 1964 Coke Patriots Bottle Cap - 51 Don McKinnon - Dartmouth alumni. This is part of the regional 1964 Coke cap promotion. Coke had a huge bottle cap promotion from 1964 to 1966. You would either get a NFL or AFL All Star cap or a cap from the team in your region. The regional caps were harder to come by. This cap is from the Boston Patriots region. This cap has never been on a bottle, so it still has the outside rim folded outward. When pressed on the bottle, this outer rim would be pushed down to seal the bottle. This cap shows some wear...the face is very clean, but there is some darkening on the outside edge of the cap....and the outside of the cap (the Coke side) shows more wear...see photos for extent of wear.
