Description: I really don’t want to sell this J45…. it’s a wonderful guitar but i figured i’d put it up to see if any interest is out there. Vintage 1963 Gibson J45 with stripped finish.. This thing sounds amazing! Even with its original composite bridge. This use to be a sunburst finish . Unfortunately someone stripped the finish and then basically abandoned it and put it back in the case. it’s been played a little with no finish but not much.. No significant damage to the wood… a bit of “buckle wear” obviously Tuners have been switched out. The finish seems to have been removed carefully. Signs of the original finish in the corners ect. Would make a great restoration project. I may keep it and do just that.. As an acoustic builder This gibson will sound better then most with original j45s w/ the original finish. Great guitar for recording, especially with a bridge swap, Frets seem original, but i’ll take a closer look with my magnifiers to confirm. Brazilian Fret board. Jumbo frets. This vintage Honduran mahogany is so much better than what is available today!
