Description: The rare 1962 card from the "carbking" collection has some light wear and very light staining on the back of the card. The card measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. This unnumbered card from the 16 card 1962 set features Gene Hartley. Hartley was from Roanoke, Indiana, and would make 10 career Indianapolis 500 starts with a best finish of tenth in 1957. Hartley is a member of the Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame and was a former promoter at the Speedrome. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past. I will combine shipping and provide a refund on shipping charges for anything over cost. Thanks!
