Description: The rare 1962 card has visible signs of wear to include staining and blemishes on the front of the card. The card measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. The staining seen on this card is not unusual. This unnumbered card features Cliff Griffith and is one of 16 cards that make a complete 1962 Marhoefer set. Griffith was from Indiana and would make four starts in the Indianapolis 500 with a best finish of 9th in 1952. A World War II veteran, Griffith made 19 Championship starts during his career.
