Description: PRODUCT DESCRIPTION1952 Franklin Half-Dollar Graded by ANACS at PF 66 with CAMEO designation and struck at the Philadelphia Mint. COMMENTSDazzling and clean 1952 Proof Franklin with gorgeous black and white contrast due to the CAMEO device elements. The coin is composed of silver with a fineness of 0.9 and has a strike type of proof. It features the image of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell with a small Eagle on the reverse. This earlier year uncirculated proof coin (first year for proof Franklins was 1950) was minted in Philadelphia and is graded at Premium Gem. As any Franklin collector knows, the earlier years for these proof coins gets much tougher and that's only exacerbated when looking for the elusive CAMEO designation (much rarer). The coin is encapsulated in an ANACS holder and boasts an original look that comes much cleaner than most at this earlier date. For those of you chasing earlier year proof Franklin Proofs, you know that they don't always come as mint fresh as this one! The Franklin half dollar had a shortened life of only 16 years (only 14 years for proofs) due to the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963. In 1964, the Franklin half dollar was replaced by the Kennedy half in honor of our fallen President. This Franklin half dollar is an excellent addition to any coin collection and a great piece of American history and is a great value considering its attractive vintage look.
