Description: This is the official 1951 INDIANAPOLIS 500 race program sold at the track. In an 8-7/16" by 11-7/8" paperbound format of 96 pages, the program gives histories, behind-the-scenes stories, statistics of past races and more. This version also includes the four-page "Day Of" insert that shows starting positions for the race, lists lap sponsors, has a track map and order form for tickets for next year. Overall, the program is in phenomenal condition. Along with a slight musty smell (easily fixed), there are three cover creases but they don't show up against the black background of the program. There is a small back cover corner crease, otherwise the program is in Very Fine condition and remarkable for its age with solid binding, pages with crisp corners and entirely unmarked. Insert is also completely unmarked. For those who are interested, Lee Wallard won the race from the 2nd position on the front row. Item shown is one you will receive. From a non-smoking environment.
