Description: 1950’s Wooden Puzzle Block Cubes Storage Case Animal Lithographs West Germany. Weighs just over one pound and is 7.5” x 6” x 2”. Box has been reinforced with tape over the years. Latch is missing on the front. This is a delightful wooden cube puzzle depicting six colorful lithographic animal scenes: horses, cows, goats, ducks, cats and dogs. There are twelve blocks with a different lithograph of a puzzle piece on each side of the block. Each puzzle is 6” x 4-1/2” when complete and each has a completed picture except for the cats. The picture of the horses is part of the box cover but the others pictures are missing. Printed on the top of the box is “Made in Western Germany 512 T” and a logo of a block with the manufacturer “Kubus”, plus a “W “and an “F”. There is no year marked on it so we do not know exactly the date when it was created. However, my research indicates that it probably was circa 1940 to 1950. There is some paper loss inside where the box hinges as well as a little paper loss on the outside of the box. (Please review photographs.) Considering the age, however, it is in amazingly good condition. Most toys like this didn’t survive.
