From some angles the reverse has lines in the field. My first impression was that it was scratched or had been cleaned. But after looking closely with a 10x jeweler's loupe I saw that these lines were ONLY in the Field (the blank areas of the coin) and the Lines didn't cross over the Devices (the raised images or text). For example, the spaces between the letters have this but nothing dragged over the letters themselves. The same goes with the springbock and there are no lines on the edge of the rim either. This leads me to believe that the planchet had scarring before it was struck. One of the last photos shows this from an angle where the lines are visible.
