Description: 1947 cover with autograph of professional golfer and tennis player Ellsworth Vines. 3ct postage centenary and cachet, mailed from Saint Louis MO (not a first day). Vines (1911-1994) was a prominent tennis player in the early 1930s with 3 grand slam titles (1932 wimbledon, 1931 and 1932 US national).
