Description: 1943 WWII US army galvanized steel folding medics stretcher. This is a very heavy stretcher! Hard to imagine a soldier carrying it all day or two using it to carry wounded soldiers off the field! I've seen many that are listed and sold--all seem to have wooden handles---I've not seen any with such heavy duty "knobbed" galvanized handles. According to a recent viewer---this is a litter would be for a ww2 pack mule Burma display. I believe he knows a lot more about it than I do so I guess that's what it was for.
