Description: Come for the action and stay for the out-of-this-world graphics. Served up is a c.1940s Scientific Machine Corp. Totalizer basketball penny arcade skill game with key. Pre-dating the NBA, this vintage countertop game is a visual delight, with a game-action scene that evokes a nostalgic rah-rah feel. The determined players are depicted with their tank top shirts tucked in, and there are pennants hanging from the rafters. Five metal scoring baskets are arranged in flying V formation, with various point totals positioned above. The game name “Totalizer” is located at bottom of the wood game board, and there’s a small window at top, flanked by the words “Your Score.” Painted red with a silver accent at bottom, the wood case stands 21” tall, with a footprint of 11" x 9". Upon insertion of a penny into the coin slot, three ball-bearing-basketballs are accessed, however only two go into play, as the game locks up when the third ball is shot. The scoring window does not populate, and the lever that should stop the balls before they reach the bottom of their ramp is stuck in an upright position. As mentioned above, display appeal is off the charts with moderate age-appropriate wear supporting the vintage nature of the ancient arcade machine.
