Description: 1933 ART DECO AIR KING RADIO (Model 52) This striking brown Air King 'Skyscraper' radio with the Egyptian insert is a true American Art Deco icon. John Sideli in his book "Classic Plastic Radios of the 30's and 40's" called it "one of the most important plastic radios ever made". This marbleized chocolate brown Bakelite Air King Model 52 was designed by Harold Van Dorenfor for the Air King Products Company of New York in 1933. This early model radio constructed of bakelite, has the rarer Egyptian insert on its waterfall facade and the large deco 'AK" tuning knob. The fragile nature of the Air King radios has made them extremely rare + desirable. The Radio is all-original and in fabulous condition with no cracks, chips, It has a small repair on the front under the knob that is difficult to see in the photo and that goes unnoticed if it is not made known. The Deco gold-tone Egyptian insert is original and in great condition with only slight signs of age. The large brown bakelite 'AK' knob + the two brown top bars are original to the radio and perfect. The two brown lever knobs are exact replacements. Radio retains the original grill cloth and metal bottom panel. The radio measures approximately: 11.75" High by 8.75" Wide by 6.75" Deep. Excellent working condition to 110 to 125 volts. The radio is in Spain, please see the shipping cost for EU and Spain. Normal 0 false false false ES JA X-NONE
