Typically, the maiko's name would be written on the card, but this time, I am listing a card with no name printed. While traditional hana-meishi often feature floral or Japanese patterns, this unique card has woodblock prints of rare illustrations of Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop, and Popeye. The size is about that of a matchbox label. 　Here is a quote from Wikipedia about hana-meishi: 　"Hana-meishi are a type of business card used by Kyoto's maiko, featuring patterns in the background that represent the seasons, the Chinese zodiac, toys, or tools. Only the name of the geisha district, such as Pontocho or Kamishichiken, and the maiko's name are printed on the card, which is about half the size of a standard business card. Suifu Matsumura, a painter and kimono designer born in the Meiji era, created these exclusive business cards for maiko, using kimono design elements and naming them 'hana-meishi.'
