Description: Farm Machinery, Archie A. Stone, John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1928 I believe this is a first edition. Mr. Stone continued to write books about farm equipment. He was the head of the Department of Farm Mechanics at the NY State Institute of Applied Agriculture in Farmingdale NY. The book describes all the farm equipment that was in use in the 1920's. Manufacturers I noticed in the illustrations include Case, Massey Harris, a cool Bolens walk behind tractor, Cleveland Tractor, American Seeding Machine Co., International Harvester etc. Most of the names appear in the credit for the photos. Includes information on repair these implements. What I find interesting is that the book was part of the Agriculture Department of a local high school (Trumansburg NY). I wonder how many high schools still have one of those! This is a reader copy. There is foxing or staining on the title page but the text is clear otherwise. The covers show staining and edge wear. the binding is tight but cracked at the front cover. There is staining on the edge of the text block. Buyer pays cost of Media Mail. International buyers welcome. I pack carefully and use recycled materials when possible. I would be happy to answer any questions or send more photos. Returns are allowed if my description wasn't accurate. Seller pays return shipping.
