Description: For offer, a superb example of a sterling silver hip flask, manufactured by 'James Dixon & Sons' in 1923. Having a bayonet fitting captive cap, and a detachable cup which is gilt lined. This is a heavyweight all solid silver flask, with engraved initials of "J. C. R." to the front panel. Hallmarked for the Sheffield assay office, year date letter of a lowercase "f" for 1923, and makers mark of "J.D&S" for 'James Dixon & Sons' of Sheffield. In very good to excellent condition, with some signs of age and usage and a ding to the right of the engraved initial "R" and above the "C", the sealing cork is still present within the cap, with the whole being liquid tight with no leaks when filled.
