Description: Two very rare impressionist woodcut or block prints by renown American artist John Davidson Butler or JB 1890-1976, possibly unrecorded & unique works. John Butler was one of three Seattle artists who worked together under the name "The Triad". He served in the military in World War 1 & he remained in Europe until 1932, periodically sending works for exhibition in Seattle. While in Europe he began making woodcuts & block prints, which he exhibited at the Northwest Printmakers Society in Seattle , amongst other venues. These works were likely produced during the period he was in Europe. John Butler very rarely signed his early works & on the rare occasions he did he would simply initial them JB. Feel free to contact me with any inquiries, but I doubt I can add much more, I have no back story to relate Please refer to the images for the condition & sizes stand not included If you haven't found what your looking for here perhaps you may find something in my other vintage/antique rare & unusual listings "I try to keep it interesting" Good luck & happy hunting
