1920's Goldsmith youth tan/white leather baseball catchers mitt glove Amateur

Here is a vintage 1920's Goldsmith Model 187 Amateur model baseball catchers mitt or glove for a Right-Handed thrower and thus fits on the left hand. Made in the USA. The mitt has a white or light tan leather front and back and a contrasting 1" wide brown leather boarder around the outside. The leather is all soft and flexible. The mitt is a youth size glove and it measures 11" long through the pocket and is 8" wide, so it has that enlongated look of the early era. The mitt is very thick, measuring 3" thick. The mitt measures 28" going around the outside of the mitt (the way people like to measure today's mitts. The front, back, interior and border leather is all made of leather. The black piping is made of cloth and the lacing is a dirty white shoestring which is holding up quite well. Stamped on the front is Amateur Model, GoldSmith, a GoldSmith logo and model 187. I don't see any stamping on the back of the mitt. The mitt was made without a cloth patch on it. The Amateur model glove is listed in the 1924-1926 Goldsmith catalog as a cheaper youth model. It sold for $2.50-$3.50 in that time period, when the topline Goldsmith catchers mitt sold for $15-$16. The vintage glove has no owners ink on it. The front, back and interior leather is very soft with soft padding. The interior leather is very soft and smooth. The stamping on the front is hard to read. You can see part of the Amateur and the Goldsmith logo can be mostly made out and the model number is readable. The "Model" is basically unreadable. The brown leather backstrap is still attached and functional. The piping on the entire mitt is black cloth and overall is holding up well. No tears or holes in the leather that I see, but the leather is scuffed up is a few places which the pictures should show. Definitely a youth mitt, but a nice example of one. The mitt weighs 15.2 ounces. A pretty nice condition mitt for its age, even if the stamping is kind of light. I have other gloves and mitts on eBay now as auctions and/or Buy it Now, and I like to combine shipping whenever possible.
