Bullock's was founded in 1907 at Seventh and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles by John G. Bullock, with the support of The Broadway Department Store owner Arthur Letts. Found inside an old strong box from the 1920s owned by a California state congressman named Elmer P. Bromley. He served from 1919 to 1925 during the Prohibition era.
