Robert Albert Read served during the Great War with the Royal Field Artillery, first entering the Theatre of War in France on 19 September 1915 as an acting Corporal, with his Medal Index Card confirming his entitlement to a 1914-15 Star Trio (his Victory Medal is missing). Robert's rank suggests he was possibly serving in the army before the Great War, and doing a quick search in the 1911 Census we found a Robert Read, aged 22, serving with 20 Battery, Royal Field Artillery at Lucknow in India, he was born in Norwich, Norfolk. No service number given but certainly needs further research. The medals are in good VF condition and will come supplied with copy documents of his Medal Index Card, the 1914-15 Star roll and the British War Medal and Victory Medal roll, as well as a copy if the 1911 Census showing Robert Read at Lucknow in India with 20 Battery RFA.
