Description: If your familiar with the Scientific American then you know you will get some interesting scientific content with a surprising amount of details. This particular issue was published February 10, 1912 and has many articles dedicated to farming, farming equipment and soil science. All interesting content from the perspective of early 20th century farming when farmers started integrating gas powered equipment and fertilizers, other than manure, into their farming practice to increase crop yields. These two factors would revolutionize farming in a short timeframe, so this is a great reference to this historical period. Other than farming science, you will also get other interesting science related content plus great vintage advertisements from some familiar and not so familiar companies. Condition - I think it's good overall considering its age. It has some noticeable blemishes, but the pages are crisp, complete and completely legible with minimal stains and tears. The most obvious issue is the spine which had, at some point in its life, tore from top to bottom and then repaired with tape. It kept the cover together, but the interior pages are not connected to the bind. However, all the interior pages are still stapled together. I think it's something easily overlooked considering the content and these are quite rare magazines. Also, there is one page where someone cut out a small square probably to get some type of coupon. This is a large format magazine - 11-1/2" x 16" with about 40 pages.
