1907 William Henry Beatty Autograph Letter Signed Chief Justice California ALS

Description: This is an original autographed letter signed from William Henry Beatty who was the 15th Chief Justice of California from 1889–1914 prior to that Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court from 1879–1880. This letter is dated March 27, 1907 and is a single sheet on the personal letterhead of W.H. Beatty, 2409 Octavia Street in San Francisco. The letter is addressed “Dear Judge” and appears to a letter that accompanied a book given by Beatty to the recipient of the letter. Beatty discusses the book and mentions his time living the dessert area of Eastern California and Nevada and also mentions the Utes and Shoshoni Indians. This is the letter only without the envelope and is fully complete and in good shape and entirely in Beatty’s hand and signed “W.H. Beatty”.
