Published by The Bobbs-Merrill Company in 1905, it is beautifully illustrated and includes the color image and tissue guard on the inner front page. Written in verse form, poem follows an Acadian girl named Evangeline and her search for her lost love Gabriel. Measuring 9-3/4" by 87-1/4" at about 132 pages, exterior boards are linen covered in deep red with cream lettering - very Art Nouveau in design. Condition is very nice with minor rubbing to the front border decoration as shown - spine edge rubbing and fraying - no writing, toning, tears, folds or damage - pages are very fine stock paper - a few compression marks on the boards - none of this detracts.
