Description: RARE! Original Antique Harper's Magazine Print Ad ~ Nov.,1900MRS. T. LYNCH of 1 and 3 Union Square, New York CityINTERESTING type of advertisement featuring a photo of "The Queen of Diamonds" herself with an endorsement of the quality and integrity of her jewelry business. However... as the saying goes, "Money can't buy happiness"......While researching this woman, I came across a very interesting article from the June 11th,1900 weekly edition of The Zanesville Signal (Ohio newspaper) regarding Mrs. Lynch's reclusiveness and poor relationship with her husband John. Apparently they lived in their home for 15 years without speaking a word to each other! Also, her obituary can be found in the January 30, 1903 edition of the New York Times as well as a post from the November 20, 1914 edition that reads "Geo. Lynch killed by subway train; son of Mrs. Theresa Lynch, "The Queen of Diamonds," either jumped or fell on rails. Spent inherited fortune once known as lavish entertainer in Broadway, he died penniless." WOW! such tragic family history! full page ad approx. 6 3/4" x 9 3/4" with Daniel Low & Co Silversmiths ad on reverse - great source of information on antique sterling and gold pieces!
