Description: 1890s Antique French Biscuit Label, Rouchier Bazel Demi Lune Haut du formulaire Bas du formulaire Date: 1890s Size: image 8.5 x 9.25 inches, 12 x 16 inches (with mat) Rouchier Bazel was a biscuit manufacturer founded in 1794 and knew its greatest success in the nineteenth century. It was a family-run operation passed down from father to son for multiple generations, and even received an honourable mention at the 1851 and 1855 Paris World Fairs. The image shows numerous cherubs figures sitting around a long dinner table draped in a white cloth, eating biscuits, drinking from small goblets. Surrounding them with riches, an abundance of healthy crops, boxes of bottled drink, exotic tiles, gold pots, and other things denoting wealth, insinuated that the biscuits were special, and therefore worth investing in. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
