Description: Original 1887 edition of Butler's Physical Geography, by Jacques W. Redway, published more than 135 years ago. This hardbound book measures 12" x 9¾" and has 128 pages, with numerous color maps and black-and-white engraved illustrations and diagrams. The text is by Jacques Wardlaw Redway, professor of physical geography and chemistry at the State Normal School of California, a teaching college system which later became San José State University and the University of California, Los Angeles. The book was published in Philadelphia by E.H. Butler & Company and has embossed title lettering on the front cover. Condition: It is in very good, lightly used condition. The hinges are tight, and the contents are clean, sound, and complete, with no rips or tears. The cover boards and spine show only minor wear, a previous owner has written her name on the pastedown inside the front cover, and a few of the pages have some minor toning. Overall in much better condition than most 19th-century school-book geographies that come on the market. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
