1885 Three Cent Nickel NGC PR65CAMEO, a Head-Turning Blazer, Scarce Key Date!

Description: For your consideration ... ... an 1885 Three Cent Nickel certified PR 65 CAMEO by NGC. This coin is an absolute head-turner -- frosty white devices, black mirrored fields, a scarce key date in the series. Just superb in every way. 1885 is a key date for the Three Cent Nickel, with less than 3,800 proof examples struck that year. It is not known how many are extant, but the coin is considered rare in Gem condition (65 and higher.) Fewer than 75 certified specimens exist between NGC and PCGS. The cameos -- Liberty on the obverse, the Roman numeral III on the reverse -- dazzle with blazing, blast-white frost. And the rest of the devices are nearly as impressive -- bright, bold and frosty white -- especially the wreath on the reverse. Needless to say, eye appeal is enormous. Virtually no flaws are visible in hand and even with a loupe, only a few very small blemishes are revealed, but again, nothing at all that's visible with the naked eye. +++ If you have questions about this or any item, please let us know.
