Nason , West Roxbury ( Massachusetts ), Drugs , Medicines , Perfumery , Druggist Sundries , Physician Prescriptions ----------- Doctor David Louis Ransom was an American physician and manufacturer of a variety of patent medicines. He was born on January 29, 1817 at Hamilton , Madison County, New York. He began his medical practice in Buffalo, New York in 1846 , producing " Dr. D. Ransom's King of the Blood ", which he claimed would cure cancers and cancerous tumors " without the surgeon's knife ," ( as well as scrofula and consumption ). He also sold Dr. A. Trask's Magnetic Ointment for croup, sore throat, diphtheria and rheumatism. Other magnetic balms and Indian balm pills followed. He died December 12, 1872 at the age of 55 years at Buffalo, Erie County, New York , and Ransom's son took over the family business. ----------- Condition. Wear to the covers, however both are still present and still attached. Aging of the paper. Loss of paper at the upper-inside corner. Otherwise good. Carefully packed for shipment to the buyer.
