Description: Jenkinson's Practical Guide to the English Lake District by Henry Irwin Jenkinson in good condition. It was published in 1881 by Edward Stanford. It is hardback with a decorative binding and fold out map. The spine is intact and there are no loose pages. It is 364 pages long with an additional 48 pages of local adverts. The book comes with some provenance. The map shows a route taken on a tour by John Rooke with daughter Fanny between 24-30th May, 1895 (see last two pictures). It also has accompanying pencil notes dated 1895 on the opening blank page. There is clear binding tape in the crease between the front board and spine to strengthen the join.
