Description: Nice H. Disston & Sons No. 7 Rip Saw - USA Antique H. Disston & Sons No. 7 rip saw dating to the 1880's. This saw is the 28" version of the No. 7 with 4 TPI. Beech handle has 1" medallion and dome style nuts which confirms the dating. Total length is 33" and the saw weighs 2lbs. The bottom fastener is missing from this saw. Medallion detail is sharp and clear - markings on side of saw aren't visible. Saw cleaning limited to light non-metallic brushing, no oils, acids or detergents. I suspect with some effort that the side markings would become visible. Good used condition - cosmetic defects include surface rust, possible plaster residue and general wear from use. The handle in very good shape with light scratches, plaster/other residue, nicks on the back points and the previously mentioned missing dome style fastener. The blade is straight - straighter than several newer saws I have. I attempted to capture this in picture #10. No owner marks of any type. Please see all pictures for full condition details. Thank you for visiting and don't wait too long on this antique H. Disston saw!
