1880 Early ABG Dome, 1880's Silk Dress, Original Paperweight eyes, & much more.

Description: I recieved this doll wigless; I made her a beautiful wig from hand selected mohair locks. I did not dye it because I had toyed with making her into a "Snow Princess". She had her original body with many rags sewn on to her with her original horsefur body. Because her original body has such a tiny waist over time she must have gotten "bendy" at the waist due to her heavy head, so the mommas stuffed rags around her and stuffed them with cotton and wool.(NO HOLES IN THE ORIGINAL BODY) Because this Lady is so long lived and passed from child to child, the final stuffing and rag may have been to update her into a child doll body so popular in the lateer part of the 1800's and early 1900's. BEAUTIFUL PAPER WEIGHT EYES are original to her. ABG were three German makers that formed a company in 1800 I suspect, after seeing the work and coloring on succeding generations of this Lady Doll, she is one of the first made. Her painting is devine, bisque gorgeous. She is soo old that her attached shoe/feet were replaced in the 1960's -80's. Although she still has her original cotton "stocking" legs. I made her dress out of an original silk dress for the 1880's (she deserves it). Her shoes are a pair of antique boots I trimmed with flowers I made with the salvage bits I had from the dress. The laces are all antique and unusial. Oh and her undies are all antique except the corcet I made to support her for the next one hunderd years after restoring her stuffing, she still has all her original stuffing, its like horse wool, I just separtated it and restuffed.
