Description: Okay...I have limited knowledge of stamps, apart from a bit of collecting as a kid, so here goes. Our uncle was a serious philatelist and we're just beginning to get a handle on his vast collection. This rare old cover from Yankton, Dakota Territory (now South Dakota) measures approx. 6-1/2" by 3-5/8". Mailed to New York City in 1879. Sender was "Hanson & Hayward Agricultural Implements".Overall nice vintage condition. The cover was cut open at left edge upon receipt. Please examine all LARGE images above for condition details.
