Collated complete. Ink inscription to the front paste down, dated 1924. Ink inscription to the front free end paper, dated 1877. Daily Mail photograph of Queen Elizabeth II, dated 1943, pasted to the reverse of the front free end paper. Various articles concerning fairy tales, dated 1928, pasted to the rear free end paper. Loosely inserted is the bookplate of a previous owner. A collection of popular fairy tales, such as Cinderella, the Sleeping Beauty, the Three Bears, and Jack and the Bean-stalk, with some stories based on nursery rhymes. A page of publisher's advertisements to the rear. CONDITION In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally smart, with some bumping to the extremities and the spine, particularly to the head and tail of the spine. The spine is also slightly sunned, but the boards are still bright. Internally, the binding is strained between pages 439 and 449, but otherwise firm. Pages are generally clean, with the odd spot and handling mark. A couple of the illustrations have been coloured in by a previous owner. Overall Condition: Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will be described in the condition report under 'condition' Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair Fair - As with good only above but with other faults leaving a compromised copy even after repair Poor - Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
