It is from the French journal Le Tour du Monde, Nouveau Journal des Voyages, (1868, Premier Semestre) edited by Edouard Charton, a copy of the title page is included for documentation. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single print as shown in the main pic. This print is from the section "Voyage dans les provinces du Caucase" by Basile Vereschaguine, an account written by a Russian who traveled through the region in 1864-5. Le Tour du Monde was published from 1860-1914 and was a popular travel journal sold in bookstores as well as in the kiosks of railroad stations. It was dedicated to travel and exploration ranging from the discovery of the source of the Nile to the conquest of the Poles. The prints were designed by "the most celebrated artists of the day'' as boasted on the Le Tour du Monde title pages, and were designed based on expedition reports, sketches and photographs. Size: The dimensions of the printed area between the neat lines measures 4 3/4 by 6 inches (12x15cm) on a page measures 8 by 11 3/4" (20x30cm) with a margin all around as seen in the main pic. Condition: The print is in Very Good condition with text/images on the reverse. It is very clean on a bright page that would frame up well, see the pics for more on the condition.
